House on Wheels

A documentary project created in collaboration with the Gorky Film Studio. The film tells the story of people who have chosen to live and travel in motorhomes across Russia. It follows three characters from different regions of the country who, together with their families and pets, roam the roads, explore breathtaking landscapes, and face the challenges of nomadic life. Director Lilia Filina transformed the traditional documentary format into a truly author-driven statement, giving the film a unique perspective that blends the familiar framework of documentary cinema with the independent, indie approach of European filmmakers. The shoot took place across the country: the travelers stop in Russia's most beautiful locations, spending nights by lakes and in forests. The result is a mini-masterpiece — road romance, an offbeat and unusual perspective, and a captivating journey for the viewer.
