Molodi

A psychological thriller by Alexander Seliverstov, shot at the peak of the Covid lockdown in May 2020. The main character, Nika, tries to escape the oppressive loneliness of isolation by heading to the village of her childhood — Molodi — but the quarantine has left an ominous mark on this place as well . The film is built around an improvisational experiment: the director initially had only seven pages of script, relying on the actors' improvisation for the rest. The shoot took place in an actual country house, where the crew lived and worked for 10 days . The film premiered at the 43rd Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF) in the "Russian Premieres" competition. It was also selected for the competition program at the São Paulo International Film Festival — the largest film festival in Latin America — and was nominated for the "New Heroes of Russian Cinema" award by Kinopoisk's editorial team in 2021 . The film was produced by Pavel Feldman, Alexander Seliverstov, and others.
